I just took a peak on Flea-Bay and found this one.
Emmons P/P Number 001?
I bid a grand on it but somebody really wants this one.
Think I'll wait for the last day.I want this one. That is when it really is the first P/P.But I thought these were made in 2005 and not in 2004.Who knows the story?

I think it was common knowledge at the 04 convention that Ron jr. was going to build a few new "OLD" PP's. Ron did bring a new S10 PP to the convention. I believe this is when the opportunity for a new PP out of old stock arrived on the scene.

I believe a forum search will find a topic on this from that time along with a photo of the S10, Green I believe...

I have run into Ron a few times and he did mention that he was building or was going to build a few more new PP's from parts and it appears this is one of them.

Nice lookin' axe...

I have the twin to this guitar. It also is a D-10 wineburst lacquered guitar. The cabinet looks like it is 30 years old, as the ad for this guitar states, but I also have another new p/p in natural lacquer that is georgeous!
Erv

PS: If someone will help me out, I would post a couple pictures of them.

Well, I think you could certainly call it S/N 001, if you like, since the buyer requested that S/N be put on the guitar. But I think it's kind of deceiving to refer to this as "the very first push-pull", since the first one was really made in 1964.

Maybe you could call it "one of the first of the last push-pulls built". I guess that would be okay.

This was certainly not the first D-10 made.
But if you look at the serial # it says 001-DR. The R meaning reissue I would think. So this would be the first D-10 reissue made.

Steve,
You've got it right. The 002 serial number on my natural has got an "R" after the serial number. However, on the wine burst guitar, it came with serial number 6726R. Who can figure?
