Cass is a monster player. I had the pleasure/honor of hearing him live on a Ray Price set several years ago. Made my night. _________________ RETIRED

Hi Chris -
Not Johnny Cox on bass.
That fellah playing performed at quite a few shows and if I'm not mistaken, passed away a few years ago.
Maybe Ben Brownen or something like that?
I'm sure Bill Ferguson will know.
And yes, MC is a mighty fine player and technician.
He's worked on my two 8 + 8 PP's.
Take care,
Ron |

You are absolutely right Jay Dee.
Mike was just never much in the limelight and played very few steel guitar shows, so the younger generation never heard of him.

Thanks for posting this Chris, I always love to hear Mike Cass play, he has it all, tone, touch and taste! I had the pleasure of playing guitar on a gig with him at a little honky tonk off of Nolansville Rd. in Nashville 20 plus years ago. I was grinning ear to ear all night. ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Ron, the player you were thinking of is Ben Brogden. He sadly left us more than a few years ago, way too young.
What everyone says about Cass is true. He's hell when he's well. ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |
