Two years ago today, I lost my psg teacher, mentor, band mate, and dear friend. I miss the sometimes lengthy conversations about Sho~Buds, attention to detail, families, ferrule hogs, and even faith...sometimes over a cold drink, but often over the telephone.

I was just reviewing very fondly old email chains with James - he must have typed 10,000 words 9 years ago to help me tear down and rebuild my Bud. What a generous, kind person. Wish I could have :eat him in person. |

James was not selfish. I had the pleasure of building
him several cabinets over the years and we became friends
so whenever I had problems with one of my guitars he would email or call me to make sure I had the problem fixed.
He was a salt of the earth kinda guy.

James doing what he loved doing! He was creating knee lever parts for my Pro I. I knew he didn't feel well, but he insisted on getting it done. I miss his wealth of mechanical knowledge and his wit! |

James was one of the good guys!!!
So much knowledge, so much wit and so many funny sayings and phrases. I miss emailing him. I miss talking to him on the phone. I miss talking to him in person.
I still remember when I first met him & I still remember the last time that I saw him.
Cancer sure is a giant piece of crap.

I was asked today about a D-8 Sho-Bud that I sold to James maybe 3 or so yrs. ago. He had just gotten over being sick for chemo and was ready to take on a project. I sent him the guitar and another one like it that I got from Randy Reinhard that had been in the weather for 15-20 yrs. He called and told me he had received the guitars and thanked me for the deal and I never heard from him again. Today a man called to see if I still had the guitar. He wanted to buy it, so if anyone knows the story, please let me know how the story ends. |
