Just as I was thinking of getting a Cube 80XL I discover they're no longer made. I wanted it for when I don't want to haul my full Telonics rig and for occasionally playing bass.
My question is - is the 60XL up to the mark? The 120XL is bigger than I want.

Not sure how well that would work as a bass rig.

I bought this one for my bass, and it sounds really good with steel as well. The built-in compressor/limiter is actually useable with pedal steel. Not exactly dirt cheap, but 250 W, very light and compact!

Im using a roland cube 60 for backup with a Bugera external speaker. Sounds great and plenty of volume. Performance is very close to the nashville 112 without the weight.

Greg, that's interesting. How necessary is the external speaker? I saw your other post about it but I wouldn't want to carry two boxes.

Per, I'm sure that's a great amp, but more than I want to pay! Smile

I just couldnt get the tone that I wanted out of the internal speaker. I think its a 10". The Bugera has a Turbosound 12" and weighs about the same as the roland 60 which is really no weight at all.

The bugera only cost $159 which compared to others its about half price and a pretty nice cabinet.

I bought the roland about 10 years ago used for $100.

The Cube 60 and 80XL have 12" speakers. I have both, and are very similar in sound/function although I believe the 60 is as its model indicates, rated for 60W and 80W for XL.
