| I recently ordered some nylon tuners for my 1980s MCI steel guitar and it turns out that The Tuners were too big in diameter to fit the rods. I was wondering what diameter are the rods underneath an MCI and can I still purchase the nylon tuners for an MCI |

You want to measure them very close, The nylon tuner length and the diameter of the rods to get the right size tuning nuts for your guitar.
There are 3 different sizes of rods I have worked on, 1/8" MSA, 7/64" EMMONS and 3/32 GFI, Just for a start.
And many lengths of nylon tuners. My Old MSA's use 3/8" Length nuts, And My GFI takes 1 1/2" length nuts.
When ordering you need both length and rod size to get an exact match for your guitar.

Yes Michael at PSG Parts will have them ... I got a bunch from him when I was refurbishing my welded frame MCI .. he will know the correct rod size too- and have rods if you need them as well !
