I've got an old Dekley that could probably use some decent servicing. Is there anyone you guys recommend around KC? I don't really know what I'm doing so I'd like to have it gone over well and then maintain it from thee.
Part of what I need done is set up. I've played on a few other steels lately and realized they're much easier to play. I've got a lot of bars crossing over each other underneath. It could probably be rearranged much more cleanly. |

Contact Chuck Abend in Gladstone. He should be able to help. I don't have a phone number. |

My thought is Russ Wever (Independence, MO) - if he's available you couldn't do any better. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

I would not mind helping, but I am a state over and down at the bottom of NM. I, too, am a Dekley fan, and have overhauled both of mine. Whoever works on yours, I would have them replace all of the 6-32 set screws with 6-32 hex cap screws. The original set screws use a 1/16 inch allen wrench, which strips easily. The hex cap screws use a larger allen wrench and won't strip.

Roger, I forgot about Russ. But either one can do the job. |
