Here's a song that Al played steel on in 1975... "Cowboy's Dream" off The Way's Maranatha album called "Can it Be?" Always loved this one... simple yet elegant country-rock phrases & solo. Very Eagles/Poco like. Enjoy!

Al Perkins has always been my favorite steel guitarist. Loved his style and tone, especially during his time with Stephen Stills’ Manassas.

Yep, that was Al alright... Very nice as usual... Nice tone and touch...
They mixed that steel HOT in the mix.. You can tell it was recorded decades ago.. Its no longer done that way under any circumstance, unless its a steel guitar album... bob

Mike;
I always admired Al Perkins steel guitar work. especially on the "Maranatha" albums. As a young Christian and Pedal Steel guitar newbie, he inspired me. A few years later I was honored to meet Al and work with him in the studio a few times, and I was blessed to play Pedal Steel on several Maranatha albums myself.

Thanks Mike for posting that, I as well have been a big fan of Al, and never knew of this recording. There is so much great stuff out there that gets lost and it's nice to have them posted for us to enjoy! Thanks!
