Could any of you legrande III owners tell me how you have your RKL set up(bellcrank/changer) to raise string 1&7 a whole tone, string 2 a half on the E9 and also lower the 3rd 1/2 on the C6 side.I had removed the RKL nylon stop block to get there but now there is way too much travel.
any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Trap I have those exact changes on my LIII. But they're on the RKR + they include a 1/2 stop to those G notes.

I would put the stop block back.

With all the travel you can get with the stop installed. Here's where I'd start.

F# top hole in the bellcrank.Top hole in the changer.
I use the 2nd string for a 1/2 stop feel.To get the G's between the F#'s to G#'s

Eb 11th hole in the bellcrank.Middle hole in the changer

F# 11 hole in the bellcrank. Middle hole in the changer. I use stainless strings. If you use nickel it will take a little more throw.

3rd string C6th. 4th hole in the bellcrank.Top hole in the changer. On the lower side of course.I set mine up so the C will reach B at the 1/2 stop. Makes it nice and short. And, it aids as 1/2 stop feel. You'll need to block it off with the split tuner or you'll be in Bb.

This is just an estimate. And this change will be stiff. No getting around it on any guitar without helper raise springs on 1 and 7.

All I've done is give you a starting point. Bellcrank holes where counted from the cross-bar up.Changer holes. When I say top hole. I'm referring to the hole closest to the pickup.

BTW. You're in for a long nite or 2.Takes a long time to tweek what I just posted. But it can be done.

Remember.Pull, never pry the E clips off.If you pry them off.Makes them really hard to reuse. And you'll have to reuse them many times. But then you could get lucky.

One other tip. I try to test my pulls before I install the E clip.Sometimes it's just not possible. .........bb

Hello, Trap,
About your post concerning the RKL nylon stop block on your LGIII. This may not be of much help but I have this lever set up to raise string 1 a full stop, raise the 2nd a half, lower 6 a full stop. It also raises the 4th string on the C6th neck a half stop. So far, I haven't had to bother with the stop. If you haven't already done so, Ron Lashley would be my first source of info on this matter.

The above mentioned changes with the 6th string lowered as opposed to the 7th string full tone raise. Is a walk in the park.It takes very little travel to lower a plain 6th string a full step.It takes almost as much changer throw to raise the 7th a full step as it does the 1st.+ It's a much harder pull.
