Fret Width

I always thought I had good eye for detail but I just noticed something I've never seen in all the years I have been playing steel.

I noticed the frets to be very uniform in thickness up to the 17th fret then change to thin for a about four frets then back to a slightly wider thickness.

Is this common because like I said, I've never noticed it on any other guitar I've owned.

I did just get out of the Hospital and maybe the morphine hasn't quite worn off yet.
