Since I missed the no pedal era. I'm wondering about the used tunings of like the Gibson Grande Console type guitars?

Here's a great place to start: http://www.hawaiiansteel.com/tunings/my_tunings.php

Especially look at the section "Tunings of the Pros" which provides Don Helms, Leon McAuliffe and many others you'd recognize.

There are many other resources on line. Let google be your friend in finding tunings!

Kayton Roberts was kind enough to put his unique tunings on his gravestone!

Thanks Jim for information. I got into steel later and kind of missed the non pedal part of the steel evolution. I've wondered about the sound of non pedal steels.

b0b has rounded up a lot of info on Steel Guitar Tuning:

https://b0b.com/wp/?page_id=201

You can follow the links for non-pedal from there. To find that page again, click on Links at the top of any Forum Page and then find Copedants.

HTH. Enjoy! Cool
