I don't necessarily want it to drip on forever and ever, but I did find it interesting and the explanations from Mr. Aiello and Mr. Byrd useful. I find it easy to get so obsessed with playing clean, well-blocked single notes that I might as well be playing on frets. There is great utility in practicing that way to develop technique, but "staccato steel" is sort of a perverse application of the bar in your hand.
