Hey Steelers, at my gig in Lubbock tonight one of my knee levers on my 1980 Push Pull gave out. I’m in Midland tomorrow, the 29th. I need assistance. I have two issues.
1: I need an Allan screw to replace the one that broke.
2: I need to remove the portion that’s left inside the rod removed.
I can surviive without the repair for my gig and fix when I’m back in San Antonio, but if there is anyway I can fix it in Midland tomorrow, that would be amazing!
Thanks in advance for your help. Call or text if you need. I trust y’all!

Update! I ended up fixing this problem that week when I got home. Shout out to Mickey Adams who was willing to let me use a steel if needed and called within minutes of messaging him on Facebook.
I was lucky and able to get the screw out without drilling the threads out completely. I used a smaller bit to drill into the screw and then switched to a larger one that caught on and threaded the broken piece out. Found a replacement at Lowe’s and was off to the races the next weekend.

Ben, thanks for posting your solution. So many times folks ask for help with a problem on the Forum but don’t let us know what the final fix was. It helps us all to know. Sounds like like another Mickey Adams act of kindness experience also. |
