Does anyone around Austin or San Antonio do reso set up. Anyone know if Carroll Benoit over in East Texas is still doing any work? Or how to contact him? |

Sonny, you might try posting this on Resohangout.

Also, if you want to ship it, Bobby Wright in NC is the best in the country. He sets up Josh Swift's guitars. |

I'd check with Fiddler's Green. I think they have sold Gold Tone dobros in the past. I think they have a once-a-week guy who does some of their setups. Sorry I don't know more but if you call they can fill you in. |

Walter Hutcherson at Austin Musical Exchange was always good to me... see if he's still around. He might have retired.

I've also had Chris Forshage do some work for me... he's meticulous.

Steve, Walter retired from the Mus Ex some years ago but the last I heard (and that's also been a few years) he would do some work at home if someone requested he did the work himself. I'd like to think he's still at it.
I know several top-flight ex-Collings luthiers in town. One of them is now a well-known mandolin builder but I don't know that any of them are that familiar with the ways of the dobro. |
