I have exhausted my contacts (and my patience) looking for push/pull pedal rods. Emmons doesn't use the same thread anymore, so I need to make 2 pedal rods.

I measure my existing rods at 0.167 inch, but I don't find that in the product tables. What the heck is 0.167 rod, or am I measuring it wrong?

What is the best stainless alloy to use? I see Type 303 ASTM-A582 - Mill Finish, Type 316 ASTM-A276 and Type 440C. I gather I don't want type 440c because of its hardness.

Measure the diameter of the threaded portion.
I think the rods have rolled threads, which in practice means that the diameter of the plain part of the rod is smaller than the threaded diameter.

I used the calipers to make my 0.167 measurement. Thinking maybe they were inaccurate I pulled the mics out and measured 4 rods. I read 0.174, 0.169, 0.169 and 0.166. I'm guessing that this is 11/64.

Thread pitch seems to be 10/32.

Anybody know of a source for 11/64" stainless rod?

Charles, I have always used 3/16" rod and threaded to 10-32.
