Was watching the movie yesterday while in my office as a Burt Reynolds tribute and was wondering who played steel on the album.
I bought the record when the movie came out back in the day and there are no liner notes. Most of the filming was done in Georgia, but the music I'm sure was done elsewhere. _________________ Regards, Craig

I believe Larry Sasser played on some of that stuff. |

Thanks Steve, that was quick. Alot of the songs on the record dont really show up in the movie, but some real nice stuff on there, and of course, Jerry Reed. _________________ Regards, Craig

Seems like it could be Jay Dee Maness, in that era he got all of LA's session work, now it's he and Greg Leisz. Just a guess, though. _________________ E9 INSTRUCTION

My first thought was also Jaydee Maness. |

Somewhere around here, I have a list of a lot of the stuff Jay Dee played on....if memory of an old timer hasn't failed, Jay Dee did play on this. |

Seems like I remember it being Weldon on the soundtrack of the first Bandit movie... but I can't remember the reference. It's definitely Not JayDee, he only played on Part II.
I'll look into it. |

Oh... and I'm referring specifically to three instrumentals on the soundtrack which are not listed in Steve H's post:
"March Of The Rednecks"
"Ma' Cousin Plays Steel"
and a brief, but great solo on "Orange Blossom Special". |
