I am not very familiar with this model,
did they have the diecast knee levers ? Those pups looks like a Lawrence 705's to me.
Is that price in range for these guitars ?
Any comments good or bad ? thank you ..

Old Bud

Many folks do not like the materials on the mechanics of this era Sho Bud. The changer parts, knee levers, brackets, and bellcranks are made from a lesser grade of metal and have reliability problems. I own a Pro II Custom from this era and have had no problems with part breakage or tuning. I have replaced the Knee Levers and Brackets with aftermarket parts from John Coop. I think these Sho Buds sound great to my ears.

I owned Super Pro 8x9 with metal necks for over ten years and it was a great guitar. The undercarriage parts appeared to be made of low grade metal but I never had any of them break. When I ordered the guitar I hoped it would sound like a round body Pro 11 but it actually sounded more like an Emmons than a Sho-Bud which is not necessarily a bad thing. Put John Coop's parts on the ebay guitar and you would have a real killer.

Thanks for the information. As for the pups I really like the Lawrence 705's.
But the question is ..... is the price about out of the range . I don't think it is worth much more than the present bid..

Bud-I had a SuperPRo and really liked it. It had the Lawerence 705's, good sound, played easy, D10 8 pedals 6 knee levers. I never had anything break on it. I made a home video of me playing E6 on the bottom neck of it in 1991, When I used to spend the winter in Florida.....al

I got a new SuperPro 9+9 in 1982, with BL 705's and it was a great guitar - I did have a couple of the knee lever brackets break, but replaced them ok (with the same crappy metal if I remember) - but apart from that it was a great guitar and served me well for years --- if you upgraded the parts with some of the after market stuff that's available it would be spot on !!
