Hi all

This is probably for players of Jackson pedal steels specifically!

I'm not too up to speed with changing/re-wiring pickups so any advice on this would be really appreciated.

I'm currently looking into options to replace the stock single-coil pickup in my Jackson BlackJack Standard (2009) with a humbucker. The guitar has a very clever pickup configuration whereby pickups can be quickly and easily installed due to there being no cable or soldering required - basically, the Jackson pickup can simply slide in or out of the guitar and has contacts underneath.

This unique setup has (I think) somewhat left me with limited options of pickups that I can install on the instrument though.

I have looked into putting a Telonics 84 or a Tone Aligner in there and so I'm wondering if there is a workaround to the issue of there being no soldering required on the Blackjack. Have any of you folks been down this road with your Jackson guitars?

I have emailed Jackson to see if there are humbucker options they can offer but would like to know what other options I have too if I did want to pursue the Telonics / Tone Aligner options.

Thank you in advance for your help - as always, this forum is a fountain of knowledge and experience so any guidance is very welcome. Smile

David
