OK so for this lick you need to have a C-pedal, and be able to lower string-6 a whole tone.
So in the Key of G (fret-3 open), go back two frets with the C-pedal + String-6-whole-tone-lower.
Now string 7 is your root, and string 6 is the Unison note, and strings 4 and 5 are along for the ride.
String-8 is a 7th note in this position.
For now just listen to the notes on strings 4-8, with the Unison root note on 7 and 6.
You can hammer-on string-7 (open to fret-1) and then hit the Unison note, kind of like a train lick.
If you play a Uni and the C-pedal is next to P5, you an use P5 to toggle string-7 instead of hammering on.
In the C-pedal + String-6-whole-tone-lower position, String-1-F# and String-4-F# are Unison notes also
The C-pedal + String-6-wole-tone-lower position translates well to any major chord in the Nashville Number system.
Should work well in any Train song like Luxury Liner, Cash on the Barrelhead, I'm Movin' On, etc.
I will try to post a video soon.
[This one just dawned on me recently, sorry if it's old news] |
