I had a weird thing happen on my Desert Rose guitar about a week ago ,My A pedal had all kinds of play while it was upside down in the case,So before I destroyed anything I took it to Jon Light "Steel Guitar Detective"sure enough Jon figured out what was up and fixed the problem, then he noticed I was missing a nut on the pedal stop on my B pedal,I remembered finding a nut on the floor a few months ago,I assumed that it had fallen off my Mullen but couldn't find where it came from so I hid it in a wooden box and put it on when I got home, while I was at Jon's he tweaked my knee levers, and it was something to watch...I'm starting to think that Jon could fix steel guitar problems while wearing a blind fold!

There are a handful of things I won't touch (changer removal/overhaul, f'rinstance) but I love the simplicity of an all-pull guitar. No matter what it's doing or not doing, you know that you will find the cause with a small or a big voila!

It's a barrel of laughs when a simple problem becomes a big mystery because you are turning and turning the allen wrench in the split tuner screw (hidden within its shaft) and nothing is changing. But when you troubleshoot your troubleshoot you discover that the wrench is just spinning but not engaging the screw because it is the wrong size wrench. How am I supposed to know that that matters?
