I have a 79 Super Pro. I am on the road and the tone pot went bad. It is stuck on the bass side. How hard is to replace that? Can I just snip the wire till I get home?

On your other post in Electronics, I thought you were talking about a tone pot on a Fender Super Pro amp, but it must be a pedal steel. Usually there is a capacitor that runs to the tone pot, it is probably shorted to ground or the pot is. I would recommend removing the capacitor, which you can do by just clipping it out. That will get you by until it can be repaired properly.
