I just listened to a version of "Love you so much it hurts me" by Chris Templeton and was blow away by the duel steel guitar parts. Beautiful playing and interweaving of sounds. The song was on Steelradio.com. I am looking for a copy of this if anyone can point me in the right direction. Great job Chris.

Thank you, Larry. It's a duet with John Ely on Hawaiian steel http://picosong.com/w5ebJ/
Recorded at Stepbridge studios in Santa Fe, NM. That's Ian Wallace (King Crimson) on drums and David Toland on bass (Bill & Bonnie Hearne) & Jeff Sussman on vibes (Drums for Ottmar Liebert).
I play an Emmons pedal and John a Fender (Stringmaster).
This song was kind of an afterthought for the session I was doing and had never worked out the arrangement, but I think of it like a steel guitar world theme song and I played it from memory.
I had the opportunity to play it for Jerry Byrd and he scolded me for playing it wrong.

Thanks for the info Chris. Playing in front of Jerry Byrd would freeze me for sure. How could you ever satisfy his taste and tone?I love the way it turned out. Sweet blend of both guitars and excellent musicianship.

No Larry, I sent this recording to Jerry and he told me on the phone that I played the melody wrong, which I probably did.
I did play once with Jerry in the audience and yes, "petrified" is the operational word.

This is from your "Tapper" album, that you sent to me a few years ago, Chris. Never really listened to it (just once). Now I realize how good this song is. I think I shouldn't buy so many records and concentrate on the stuff I already have.

Played the chords beautifully and nicely expressed. Both you and John are great on this cut.

Thank you for your nice comments.
I was thrilled to make it into Lorene Ruymar's Hawaiian steel book with John Ely. The pic was taken at Gruhn's in Nashville.

Excellent song Chris, you look so much younger, but your older than that now Smile

No, really such great music, let's hook up this winter in Vermont, or at least Norwalk in November.
