MULLEN D-10, 8x8, Pre-Royal Precision model, outstanding blue refinished lacquer, Emmons style copedent, standard height, Lawrence pick-ups, leg pouch and good, but well worn case. The color is very unusual for a Mullen. Polished aluminum levers. I purchased this from Duane Dunard back in March 2015.

Here is what a former owner and Forum member, David Higginbotham, wrote about this Mullen :
"I totally rebuilt that guitar including changing it to blue with those one of a kind inlays on the front apron. It has several coats of lacquer on it. There isn t another Mullen that color as I mixed the color myself and wanted the inlays to be different than the usual rope pattern. The person that purchased it from me added the extra three knee levers but rest assured every piece of that guitar was refurbished and I still love the color of it. I spent many hours on that guitar and it paid off as it plays ultra smooth!"
Split-tuning screws: three on E9 neck and two on C6th neck.
Check my 100% positive EBAY feedback and especially note what is written about my careful packing of instruments. Also look at mynForum feedback. Thanks steve

Thanks for the well-wishes, Jerry!!!
David Higginbotham did a bang-up job restoring this steel and re-lacquering it. In another life, it was Halloween orange. He also did an incredible job creating a red Sho-Bud and an Emmons black mica.
Wish I had those abilities. steve t |

Dale, I have to agree with you on all counts and have upped the price in the hopes no one will want to buy it.
I must again thanks David Higginbotham for the work he did on this Mullen.

I am going to hold on this Mullen for the time being but will keep the thread open but not bump it.
Thanks Dale for getting me to reconsider selling this one.

Kudos, Dale!! Steve I wouldn't part with this 'un! I have a pre RP 8/8 just almost exactly like Dale's and wouldn't sell mine for anything. That's one beautiful steel, buddy! Steve as most of has had one time or another we dont want to see you have sellers remorse... That is a very beautiful example of how a pedal steel should look like.... Slim _________________ S12 MSA Classic Nashville 400 with fox mods amp 1 volume pedal 1 Lil Izzy and 3 cords |

Patrick and Slim, I'm inclined to agree with you about this Mullen and the sellers remorse which would be the outcome of a sale.
We all know there are any number of fantastic looking, playing and sounding steels out there in the pedal steel universe. Subjectivity plays a part too in evaluating steels.
I must say though, that of all the steels i've come across, this Mullen is special to me perhaps because of all the meticulous care David Higginbotham took in crafting this piece. Having purchased it from Duane Dunard meant something to me as I've purchased steels from Duane before and he is a 'stand-up' guy.
Though I'm trying to thin out the D-10 herd this year, this Mullen won't be part of that herd.
Thanks for the input from you two as well as Dale and Jerry who advised against moving this blue Mullen down the road. stevet |

Why thank you, Steve, if Publisher's Clearinghouse would have shown up Tuesday with my $10,000,000 check like they should have then I wouldn't have said boo either, just sent ya the dough! I feel the same way about mine. I managed to get Junior's lacquer '95 two tone D10, and he was the first steel player I ever met and he always had a kind word and a few minutes between sets to talk and answer my fifty zillion questions...kinda my first "guitar hero". Couldn't believe I managed to lay hands on the steel I watched him play so well years ago, so yeah...it's got a huge amount of sentimental value to me anyway. That's something you just can't replace. And yours is an absolutely gorgeous one of a kind color! Don't stick her back up for sale after them idjits show up with my mucho dinero or you won't have her long!! _________________ Pre RP Mullen D10 8/7, Zum 3/4, Carter S-10 3/4, previous Cougar SD-10 3/4 & GFI S-10 3/4, Fender Steel King, 2 Peavey Session 500's, Peavey Nashville 400, Boss DD-3, Profex-II, Hilton Digital Sustain, '88 Les Paul Custom,Epiphone MBIBG J-45, Fender Strat & Tele's, Takamine acoustics, Marshall amps, Boss effects, Ibanez Tube Screamer, and it all started with an old cranky worn out Kay acoustic you could slide a Mack truck between the strings and fretboard on!! |

Oh and one other thing, Steve....you can keep her and be thankful you have 8 black pedals....that's eight less to polish than I have....mine has the full polished package all the way lol...yours is probably a few ounces lighter than mine too! _________________ Pre RP Mullen D10 8/7, Zum 3/4, Carter S-10 3/4, previous Cougar SD-10 3/4 & GFI S-10 3/4, Fender Steel King, 2 Peavey Session 500's, Peavey Nashville 400, Boss DD-3, Profex-II, Hilton Digital Sustain, '88 Les Paul Custom,Epiphone MBIBG J-45, Fender Strat & Tele's, Takamine acoustics, Marshall amps, Boss effects, Ibanez Tube Screamer, and it all started with an old cranky worn out Kay acoustic you could slide a Mack truck between the strings and fretboard on!! |

Thanks, Larry,
I feel as you did about this steel. i don't want to sell it but need to generate some cash. I will put up a number of other pedal steels and guitars for sale so perhaps I will get to keep the Mullen.
Thanks for chiming in and for the bet wishes you sent. Steve T |
