Hey everyone,
I'm new to the forum and new to the PSG. Recently picked up a MSA Sidekick Pro-Am from a fellow forum member and have been looking for an inexpensive but effective way to practice through headphones at night as my house is pretty small and the neighbors are close by (and probably don't want to hear the shrieking of wrong notes  ).
Been considering the Vox amPlug 2 AP2CL–the price is reasonable (~$40) and it seems to have decent clean tone for what it is, as well as a passable built-in reverb. The aux in is a bonus as well, so I can play along to my Mickey Adams lessons

I'd be running a delay and volume pedal through it.
I'm sorry if there was already a thread on this, but wanted some opinions.

| I have one-i think they sound awful- but they're very useful, especially for the ability to play along with a track from your phone/computer silently. I use it for long days the road when my amp isn't accessible. I like the 'honesty' of the awful tone- dry and harsh- good for focussing on better technique. |

Just buy a cheap mixer, they have enough gain to power headphones and there are plenty of inputs for steel and music sources. If you have a stereo reverb pedal, even
better, as you can pan the two outputs and get a very nice sound. Even the cheapest Behringer will work fine, I used one for years. |

Thanks for the replies! I ended up getting the amPlug, we'll see how it goes. Asa, I'm going to try and run my reverb & delay through it, we'll see if that helps with the awful tone!
Also Cartwright, that's a great suggestion. This Vox seems a little bit cheaply built, so once it kicks the can I'll look into that kind of setup.
