Here is a tab for Paul King's "Christmas Medley in June" as played by him at the Oklahoma Steel Guitar Show this year, which you can watch here:

I've tabbed part 1, "Blue Christmas," and am working on the rest. I was inspired by his version of this song and wanted to learn the licks he used. Paul was kind enough to give me his input on my attempt to tab his great work on the steel (Thanks Paul!). There are some really good licks in here which can be used in other songs as well.
Hey, Christmas ain't that far away!

Thank you Chuck for all the time you have put into the tab. I also am humbled that you liked it enough to tab it. The story behind the song is unique. I saw a man putting a tree together and it looked like a Christmas tree. I told him it was early for Christmas and he chuckled and told me what kind of tree it was. It brought back to my memory a previous gig where I played it. I announced it to the audience and the band had no idea it was coming. The medley turned out pretty good for not playing it for at least six months and with no band rehearsal. I love to play Christmas music, even in June. |
