I thought I should mention, ERV NIEHAVS , this steel player's name on this forum as a big public thank you for the incredible work he has done for the pedal steel player.

I once fumbled through various tutorials on my own and got something out of them, but when I opted to try some of ERV's transcriptions I was instantly struck by the simplicity of his pure gems of laid out form and this required no in-depth study as it was so simple and quickly I was turning out melodies with great learning experience and I always knew if it sounded OK as my wife would say who is that artist you are playing; to her shock it was me! A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO ERV.YOU WILL GO DOWN IN STEEL HISTORY. JAMES TAYLOR

Hi ERV,
Thank you for all your contributions and each one has been a teaching skill.
Do not underestimate your ability in this world of pedal steel as I have found every single piece of music through, your interpretations, a piece of art and your knowledge of chords is excellent. I have been taught much more by you on this beautiful instrument than any of the courses I subscribed to.
I live up north and far away from the madding crowed and so no one in this area has heard much of the steel never mind seeing a teacher. Well along came ERV and that was a blessing.

I used to be German but I took pills for that. Laughing Laughing
Thanks a lot for the kind words.
I like to make my tabs a learning experience and help you understand "music" better.

AYE, AYE your past is coming up with such a history to be proud of, although my ancestors would not have thought so. It goes to show just where that determination comes from.

Best regards JAMES

I have to add my praise of Erv here as well. I have a good collection of his Gospel tabs and a few country tunes as well. They are complete in themselves but also lend to your own improvisation as well. Thank you ever so much Erv, you are an institution in yourself!

It's always a great occasion when a person like Erv gets some well deserved recognition from his peers.

A while back I contacted Erv to see if he had the tab for a special gospel tune (City of Gold). He didn't at that time. A couple of weeks later the tab showed up in my mailbox. So a heartful thanks to Erv for his special effort. This song was on the top 10 Aboriginal list for many, many weeks. If you need a new gospel tune to play check it out here:

Dennis,
You are correct, even though I have over 1,100 gospel songs tabbed out, if I don't have one you want, I'll do my best to find it! Very Happy
