I tend to pitch higher when I use headphones for monitoring. Some notes are on the edge of being out of tune. I have no problems when I listen to the direct sound from the speaker. Does anybody else have to cope with such problems, or am I just wierd? I’m not pleased with this. Any advice?

Headphones emphasize overtones and deemphasize the fundamentals. That could effect your pitch sense. The problem is worse if you are going straight into the board for headphone play. It helps a great deal if you go through an amp and speaker simulator, such as a POD XT. This makes the headphones sound more like a real amp and speaker.

Are you using chorus or a reverb with chorus in it? Chorus and flange effects bend tones and you would tend to hear it (the bending) more clearly using headphones than a speaker in open air.
