When changing keys, go to the 5 chord of the new key then to the 1 chord of the new key. So, open G on fret three, go to an E (there is one on the third fret with A and F engaged), then to open A on fret five. C with pedals down on fret three, go to any A chord (up to open A on fret five), then D on fret five with pedals down.
