I've recently gone from a Zum U12 with seven floors to a Carter D10 with eight floors. The Zum has metallic pedals and the Carter has black, I have a real problem seeing them in low light. Sounds simple, just paint them. I don't want to ruin the looks, have any good ideas? Thought about reflective tape, is that a bad idea?

Don't know about that one Howard but it got me thinking that lighted pedals might be a nice feature if you play in dark places.

You should be able to learn where the pedals are without looking at them. It just takes practice.

What Richard said. Try adjusting pedal 4 or 5 (whatever is 1st for C6th tuning) a little higher then then the one to the left... so raking your foot left to right will instantly "index" where the pedal for each neck/tuning mode are at.
Avoid a shinny A&B pedal,
dead give away(:>)>=[

Howard my 05 Carter has polished pedals and they look good. You could take the paint off and buff them out.

| I own a '99 and a '03 Carter D10..Neither has black pedals..And I've never seen a Pro Carter guitar with black pedals!!! |

| Howard, Those pedals are like the gas pedal and brake pedal in your car. You must practice and learn were they are and keep your eye on your fretboard. My 10 cts worth!!! |

| Howard, just remove the pedals from the pedalboard, take them to an aluminum polisher and have them polished. |

Thanks for the replies. This is a 94 d-10 Carter Pro guitar, and the padals couldn't be any blacker. Of course I will get used to the pedals without looking, but for now the size and spacing is a lot different from the Zum, and I make some awful clams while I'm getting used to it. I make enough of those any way.

| This is why my guitars have exactly 5 pedals - so I don't have to look to find them. And actually, I think 4 would be better but I can't bring myself to get rid of one of them. |
