1956 Fender D-8 in near mint condition.
Sounds awesome and is ready to gig.
All original, including the blonde paint, decals, 4 legs, and tweed case in great shape.
It s light, and relatively small in the case.
Since the guitar is 62 years old, it has required some electronic maintenance. The pickups are original, and I’ve had 2 broken coils rewound to original specs and wire. The tone cap and tone pot have been replaced. Work has been done to keep the switches and wiring fully functional.
The original parts are in the case.
The dual single coil pickups per neck, are mixed by a dial under the removable bridge plates, and they are humbucking when used together. The necks are switched via the push knobs.
This is a fine vintage guitar that will get out your trad Hawaiian, Chris Scruggs retro, and it screams the blues with overdrive.
This is an example of Leo’s genius for design and functionality.

Scale length is 22.5â€.
String spacing width at bridge, 2 5/8â€, at nut 2 3/16â€.
Necks currently tuned as C6 and E13, with D’Addarrio.

Does that mean one has to take the bridge plate off to,get to,the dial?

The plate just flips up. Not the best design in the world, but it works. The biggest issue with these guitars is the neck selection switches, which were replaced with the design on the final iteration, that includes a switch like a Telecaster (the real experts will correct me if I’m off here). When properly maintained as this one surely looks to be, they work just fine.

Yes, the bridge cover flips up easily to adjust the dial, which adds the front pickup to the back pickup. I think most players find a setting they like and leave it there. Fully on, you are in humbucking mode. It is really a genius design for 1956. Not sure why Leo didn’t include this in the Stratocaster.
You can remove the cover and play without it if you prefer.
The neck switches have been maintained and are working perfectly.
The guitar is in transit to a buyer, and I am awaiting his approval.
