How cool is this. Working with Joe Diffie this weekend and getting to play John Deere Green at the 100th anniversary of the John Deere Tractor company for their celebration in Waterloo Iowa. I’m looking for some serious swag. Hats, t-shirts, toy tractors. Maybe they will let me drive one of those huge monsters. Heck, it got to be easier than playing steel. |

If you are playing it they will hear some great steel guitar. Who knows, maybe they will have you a John Deere green steel guitar built. |

Remember Jeff Newman’s Zum that was stickered up like a John Deere?
For all the advertisement they got they should give Joe a new bus all painted Green and yellow. |

I remember Randy. A John Deere bus would look good on the road. |

Randy, please ask them to give you a model 2020 diesel tractor. I’ll double your money on it. Lol. I wish I were you, both as a steel guitarist and for the gig. _________________ RETIRED

I drove the old John Deere tractor on my grandparents farm way back when I was a kid. Yes, it's easier than playing pedal steel but, what isn't? |

Jeff, what's you mean test drive? The dad-blame thing drives itself with the GPS and all.
It will keep you within 2 inches of where you want to be. Just pull up the Steel Guitar Forum and read awhile, or read some in your favorite hunting book.
And that's just the beginning. _________________ Email: azpedalman@gmail.com

You're absolutely correct, Fred. You're basically a computer "monitor" and not an equipment operator. I saw an interesting TV show with a "roving" group of 3 or 4 of those high tech combines that go farm to farm in the mid-west when it's harvest time. Many farms can't afford to own the equipment so these guys get hired to roll in, get the job done, and it's off to the next place. The cab looked like the inside of an air traffic control tower!

Jeff, is there enough space in the cab to setup a steel and practice? Lol _________________ RETIRED

It looks like the only tractor they’ll let me on is the big green bouncy house tractor. There might be a weight limit. 😒 |

I was lucky enough to pilot a sorghum harvestin' combine in far west Texas in the early eighties, but it wasn't a Deere or a Gleaner, but a real MF. Lots of fun _________________ Regards, Craig
