A friend of mine has a bar that is rounded on both ends. Anybody know who makes these and about how much a used one is worth? Are there advantages to using one?

I had one for a while. Didn't care for it. Didn't feel good in my hand. I found no advantage to it at all.

My friend who has this took lessons from Don Curtis at Scottys for a couple years while we were playing in a local club. One thing he did with it was play open strings behind the bar. He liked it well enough but is no longer able to play.
