I am a dealer for Little Walter Tube Amps. Players who use Little Walter Amps include Paul Franklin, Bruce Bouton, and Travis Toy just to name a few. The sound is amazing and the clarity of the upper register is hard to believe. IMHO, these are the finest amps for the steel guitar player on the market.
I am located in Northeast TN. If you have any questions about them, contact me.
Thanks, Gary

How do these amps compare with the NV-112's? Anybody know what effects players are using with them and at 50 watts, is there a problem if there not miked or run direct thru the board? Thanks.

Hi Billy,
I play through a 50 and also own a nashville 112. They are not alike in any way.The 112 is pretty much typical steel amp we have been playing through for many years, with minor differences. The LITTLE WALTER is a different technology using octal preamp and 6L6's for power tubes. I don't claim to know anything about the technical side of the amp. The LITTLE WALTER is a instrument (and that is a quote from Paul Franklin)and I agree totally. It is extremely clean and clear at any position on the fretboard, nothing else even comes close to that. It has no trouble competing with any amp for volume,( if you are in a venue that needs more volume than this amp delivers it need to be miked anyway).
Now as for effects, most use some kind of reverb, delay and some use a overdrive.
If Paul or Travis Toy see this and respond they can give a lot more information than I can. But these amps are being played by some of the greatest players today, like paul Franklin Bruce Bouton, Travis Toy, Andy Reis, Brent Mason, Reggie Young just to name a few.

Yes,( littlewaltertubeamps.com) it's real hard to comprehend what these amps do. You need to play through one to experience it. i will be at St. Louis with RUSSLER steel guitars and I will have my amps there. I am a dealer and rep for RUSSLER also.

Sounds like steel players are getting hip to the tubes! I've always loved a good clean, sweet tube amp that gives the subtle bell-like chimes.

Warm mids, and ultra clear, yet not piercing highs.

Yep, a good tube amp will change a steel players mind..............

Hey Bill, you are right. Buy the best parts available, hand build them one at a time, for a tone that has never been available to a steel player. For you guitar players there is a new 15 watt, class A amp that is a great recording and small venue amp, and is more affordable for the average musician.

I played Gary's Russler through the Little Walter and it was great. Smooth warm tone and Hughey land was awesome. The guitar's good too.

Does this amp use the 6SL7?

If so...I have 16 Sylvania Gold 6SL7WGT. Military tubes from the 50's...Never been out of the box...I've actually hooked one up to my twin reverb and they sound great with absolutely NO microphonics...

Also..Sylvania Gold are 10,000 hour tubes.

Hey Murnel,

The amp uses a 6SC7 and a 6SL7.

I'll buy one of your 6SL7s!

Guys,

Tube Depot sold these for 85 dollars a piece and they sold out of them....

I wouldn't ask that much for them, but I wouldn't mind maybe selling a few, as I would never use this many in 5 lifetimes...As they were guaranteed by Sylvania to last at least 10,000 hours.

In fact...I'm seriously considering turning my V2 steel channel on my 68 twin to an octal socket so I can use these....They sound great...

I made up a dummy socket with an octal on one side and a noval on the other and plugged it into my twin.

I see all about the amp but nothing about speakers. What I have seen is just an amp head but no suggestions about what speakers work best. Jerry

I picked up one of these from Gary a few days ago. Most responsive amp I have ever plugged anything in to. It will make you play better because you hear every subtle nuance! And Gary is a great guy to boot.

above post asked about little walters amp vs 112...
As I was there when Charles got his LW
I can truthfully say they are way ahead of the nashville 112.....im not saying the nash is a bad amp it is not at all a bad amp it just these tube amps have big round notes and lots a power too
and of course amazing tone
its just a different class of amp all together
hopefully they will be at steel jams for everyone to play and see
my Hats off to Gary on these new amps!! Very Happy

Thanks guys for the great reviews on the amps and the kind words about me. Sorry i have had some issues with my mother being sick (she is 83) and I have not been following my post as I should, again I am sorry.

Chris, e-mail, pm or call 423-914-2436 for price quotes. I am giving some new dealer discounts, but they are not 600 dollar amps. They are boutique amps that take a steel guitar to another dimension, it just reaches musical tone that has never available before.

Jerry, the speakers I like best and are the most popular is little walter 1-12 bw 1201-8 using 2 speakers. I am currently testing a 1-15 bw 1501-4. I like it a lot , I think it gives a more traditional 15 inch sound with the clean tones of the little walter heads (50 0r VG50 heads). I still think there is nothing like the 2 1-12 cabinets. So for all you guys that have a house full of steels you might think about selling 1 or 2 and buying you a really good amp and your wives would appreciate the extra space.

Thanks, Gary

Did you patch it in, kind of a bench test? - as far as I know most, if not all, Fenders use 7025 or 12AX7 or ECC83
