Evans made these old compactras for SHO~BUD, late 60s early 70s, also made some SHO~BUD solid state in mid 70s. I have an old Evans compactra 100, same as the SHO~BUD compactra. Most of those amps had JBL 4 ohm speakers, some one may have switched it out, I used mine from 1974 until about 1978, I preferred it over the solid state amps, I still have mime, went to Peavey Session 400, great clean amp. I have an early one. I was told Evans started building them in ‘64 and stopped in ‘68, but couldn’t verify. Mine has been put in a smaller cabinet which is nice since the original cabinets are crazy oversized. The tuck and roll ones are really cool. YouTube waltz across Texas to see Buddy Charlton playing an Emmons through a golds one with ET. Mine has trem and Reverb and must be one of the first, as all the markings are hand done with an engraving pen! I believe mine is 50 watts...? Great amps! _________________ Mostly Pre-1970 guitars. |
