Above link to video of Webley Edwards introducing Huanani for a performance of "Au Hea Oe" with hula dancers.
I think maybe it's a lip-sync, with the vocal taken from Haunani's recording of the song as part of the Nui Nui Six on a Decca anthology from the mid 1960s?
Pua was part of that group,so I'm guessing he is on steel?
Here's the entire LP:

The steel guitarist is Barney Isaacs...mainly C13 tuning throughout... B11 tuning in the section between the steel guitar and guitar solos. |

Thanks Jeff for that info.
I assume it's Barney on all tracks on that LP. I think the liner notes only mention the vocalists, unfortunately. |

I have the same cut of "Au Hea Oe" on my copy of "Haunani, the Voice of Hawaii". DL74561. Barney backs her on all the cuts.
Maybe the Nui Nui Six is some kind of packaging of Decca Hawaiian artists taken from previously recorded work? |
