I recently purchased a steel as a ZB from the early 70s. I suspect that the body is one instrument, the legs and pedals from others. Can anybody identify the headstock as a particular brand?

I've never seen one of those. Do you have more pics, top and undercarriage?

I bought it as a ZB but after some investigating I highly doubt it. The Z B letters on the front look like they are cut out of thin plywood and painted to look like metal. there is no serial number. It used to have a c6 neck that has been removed and covered with a wrist pad.

Frank, After seeing the underside pictures pretty sure that it is a Dean Reed Guitar. Also the wood was what he used on several guitars. Was at his place many times back in late sixty's and early seventy's he was very proud of this wood. Sorry I cannot remember the name of it now. Good luck with it, J.R. Rose

Frank, This is a guitar that I made around 1970 and I got the key head from Dean Reed. Sorry about the quality of picture, a picture of a picture which was not good to start with, just a snap shot. J.R.
