I'm thinking about trading my 51 Dual Pro for a different guitar with wider string spacing.
This guitar started life as a triple neck, and when I got it, the outside neck had been sawed off and the leg sockets moved. Both of the pickups were weak, so I had them rebuilt, and they sound great now. Last year, I got a real D8 body, refinished it, and mounted all the parts on it. Also, all the wiring, knobs and switches have been replaced. The tuners work well, all of the original legs work fine, and the guitar has no functional issues. It has a non-original case.
I'd be interested in trading for a different D8 with more guitar-like string spacing, but I'd like to stay with the 22.5" scale length. I also need extendable legs, since I mostly play standing. I'm really interested in a Gibson Consolette, but would look at anything that plays and sounds good. Cosmetics aren't very important.

Is the string spacing on this Dual Pro different or more narrow than a 50’s Fender Stringmaster?

I don't know how it compares to a Stringmaster. I've never played one, and I don't know of any in my area. I'm sure that there's someone here who does know. I have a 40's Epiphone with 3/8" spacing that I find easier to play.

It's NOT narrower. It may be just a bit wider.

Hi John -- would you consider selling it outright? You can PM me, too.

I play in a band doing a lot of zydeco/Cajun style stuff, and the accordion player plays a red Junior Martin. This would look/sound great (I play a Stringmaster D8 with them now). My Stringmaster sounds fantastic, but I've been wanting that trap p'up sound.

Thanks,
TJW
