Its a single 14 string. It came with Bill Stafford's setup. I bought it new in Oct 88. Don Christianson, who was the owner at the time, said that Buddy Emmons was at the store and playing this guitar while I was on the phone. I played it regularly till I bought a S12 Seirra in 1999 and this one became my studio/rehearsal rig and really hasn't left the house since then. It is a great guitar and still plays just as good as the day I received it.
I didn't care for the 14 string so I dropped the first and fourteenth strings and played it as a 12 string for most of its life. I can set it up any way you like.
Attached is a copy of the current setup and a picture taken in a photo studio back in the 90's. I can send photos to any serious inquiries. I wouldn't sell it but I have 4 steels now and just can't justify keeping it.
BTW it has the triple pickup. The pickup is a quick change. And the changer is 3 raise and 2 lower.It also has foldup legs.
