Hello to all! I'm new here but not to lap steel.

Around 1973 I bought a Roger lap steel electric guitar from a pawn shop when I was stationed at Ft. Hood TX. Around 1975 I sold it to Ray Ketner's Music in Madison WI while in college.

Sorry for the poor photo but it's the only color one I have. It's how I found it and I did get it set up and played it a lot. I did move on to pedal steel with a Sho-Bud Maverick but alas it to is long gone Sad .

Does anyone know anything about Roger lap steel guitars? When/where they were made?

Thanks!

I wonder if it's the same as the Roger-branded guitars built by Wenzel Rossmeisl in Germany. Those do look like European tuners.

Could be. Ft. Hood had lots of soldiers who had been stationed in Germany and could have easily brought it back to the States. Hoffner & Framus guitars were very common in the pawn shops back then.
