I’ve been intrigued by this idea of standing and getting authentic acoustic resonator sound tuned to open G, while also having some basic pulls available ala pedal steel. I wonder though in practical use how it holds up?

Does it require constant tuning with the raises and lowers or does it settle in? Does it setup and disassemble easy for gigging and transport? Is it fatiguing to use the pedals standing? (Seems like leaning on a really tall stool might be better than standing on one leg?). Also there’s no amplification options for this it seems , it would have to be miked?

Anyway there’s very little info available on this other than the website and a couple of demo videos. If you own one or know of any posts here on the forum from actual owners I’d love to get some feedback.

Bump.

Hoping someone will see this with some info. Perhaps I will email Zane King as he’s the only person I know of that’s laid hands on one!

fwiw, Robert Randolph played a very similar looking instrument for a few songs when he was here on the 4th.
Same company, Jackson.

I have a six string with three pedals. Fantastic guitar with a bright sound. Mine is set up open e tuning. I wish I had ordered an 8 string with 4 pedals but they didn’t offer it then. I may add a 4th pedal to mine. It stays in tune very well and the mechanics seem brilliant to me. I’d call them with questions. I tend to use mine like a slide with overdrive.

So in quickly reading this post I thought you were asking about the slide king. That being said I would still have faith the mechanics on the resonator would be good. I would have bought one if I didn’t have a pedal resonator by Hudson. Yes you get tired standing but so does your guitar player!😊 I did have Jackson modify my Dobro with their edge system. Very nice job and good mechanics.

Pete,
That's some of the best Robert Randolph I've heard. Very Happy

Tom, it is a little confusing...I think there’s four models of slide king guitars! I agree that’s some sweet playing by Robert. Love the sound of that pedal reso and I like standing up when I play. Gotta save up my nickels though cause it ain’t cheap!
