Been listening to this new CD for the last week and love it! Lloyd's playing is so good and perfectly fits in, and why shouldn't it. On the first cut the steel sounds just like Leo LeBlanc on earlier Jerry Jeff albums, and is perfect. I don't know if he just could emulate that or played a certain steel, but it is uncanny. Maybe Ricky D. can chime in or Herb Steiner. The CD is only available on Jerry Jeff's website, but is so good, it's worth checking out. It's kinda funny that two of my favorite players are still making great music after 42 years of me being introduced to them. The other is the new Willie Nelson album which is just so good. Check them both out.

Rain Song- one of the best on the album

WEll on "That's Why I play" Lloyd solo starts on 2:31...and that is Lloyd regular Mullen.
Now listening to "Rain Song"..that actually sounds very much like one of the Sho~bud's I put together for Lloyd to play/cut. He never told me what he used this one or that one on....but hearing that....makes me think that was one of the Sho~Bud's.
So those are my guesses...ha...I can't listen to Jerry Jeff anymore...so that's all I can do.....ha.
