Hey gang,
I'm brand new to pedal steel, so I apologize if this is a dumb question. The high G# string on the E9 neck is having some issues underneath the bridge. Even when the B pedal is not engaged, the mechanics are acting as if it is. But the pull rod doesn't seem to be pulling anything and the part it's connected to looks dented in. The guitar was functioning fine until I noticed the problem one day, and then the string broke. I'll attach pictures, but I'd be happy to answer any questions if you need more specific details. Also, I'm left handed so that's why all the pictures will look backwards.
Thanks for the help!

Scissors look normal for being without the string – pulled over by the lower-return spring, although the nylon-nut looks overtightened on third picture – cannot see clearly from that angle.
Put the string on, and then check that the raise-scissor doesn't hang on the nylon-nut when in neutral. Report back so we can help further with the details. |

Looks pretty obvious the nylon nut on pic 3 is over tightened if your not pushing any pedals. There should be slack in this when the pedal is not pushed.
Before you adjust anything see if you can push the finger back into place. then see if you have slack in the rod. If there is slack in the rod then it probably isnt over tuned. |
