You are indeed correct, Francisco. Looks like the pickup is screwed down tight so the strings pass above the magnets instead of through them. Definitely not the preferred setup to get the most out of a Bakelite. Would be interesting to hear how it sounds set up that way. |

Message the seller and tell him to look at pictures on the internet. _________________ No chops, but great tone

Before seeing this, I had already messaged the seller about the pickup setup. Seems like a nice guy, but his response also talked about how his luthier had leveled and polished the frets for optimal playability. _________________ Rickenbacher B-6 |

I think his Luthier took a mail order course and didn't pay all the postage! _________________ Currently own, 6 Groner-tone lap steels, one 1953 Alamo Lap steel, Roland Cube, Fender Champion 40 |

Did you hear the one about the luthier who set up the strings on the outside of the magnetic field? _________________ www.deluxe34.com lap steel stands, Clinesmith, Gibson Console Grande, Northwesterns, The Best Westerns

I hope nothing got hurt by running the pickup down so low. _________________ Excel D10 8&4, Supro 8, Regal resonator, Peavey Powerslide, homemade lap 12(a work in progress) |

Now I'm wondering...if he really had a luthier dress the frets, he would have noticed how high the nut is and filed that down to?

The so-called luthier who doesn't know a lap steel from a fence post, shouldn't be working on guitars... |

You'd have to have some set of hands to play this square neck like a guitar. |
