Hey All,
I just bought a Black Box from another forum member here. Holy cow! it sounds great. I am running it through a Nashville 400.
Wondering what kind of clever setups you all have to manage all the gear on stage.
I am putting the guitar into the BB into the amp and a Goodrich VP and Boss RV-3 through the effects loop. It has really made a mess of chords and what not. Wondering how folks are keeping their setups organized and clean.
I would love to see some pics!

I don't find any problems with you setup. The only difference with my setup is that I run steel to volume pedal, to amp. I run my MS50G effects pedal through the effects loop and the difference in tonal quality is amazing compared to putting it right after the VP.
I end up with 3 cables between the guitar and amp, but a few cable ties takes care of that. It's worth it for the improved effect quality. _________________ Best regards,

There is nothing wrong other than it is just a mess I want my stage area cleaner with less crap everywhere. Where do you put you blackbox in relation to where you sit/the amp/the steel? And where do you set you effects?

My BB is clipped to the right rear leg of my steel...I guess I left that out of my last post.
The MS50G sits on a clip-on little table on the left rear leg. So...guitar to BB (short cable) to VP to amp. The MS50G has its 2 cables going to the amp's effects send and return jacks.
Oh, my Strobo HD tuner clips to the front left leg and gets a cable from the VP (1 in, 2 outs).
So, 3 cables run from steel to amp. I have both, left the 3 of them lay separately, and have bundled them with cable ties. If I was still playing out, I'd probably bundle them.
Now if I wanted things as clutter free as possible, I'd run guitar to BB to VP to MS50G then to amp. Only one wire laying between amp and my seat area. My effect sounds would suffer a little, but there would be less cable to trip over.
Hope that's clear enough. _________________ Best regards,

Is there a particular clip that works well with the black box? Can I use one of those Goodrich clips? |

My BB is part of my pedal board. I don’t always use this complete setup but always have delay & bosstone. Steel>BB>VP>A/B selector and last in chain is delay. One cord out to amp input. This board has been reconfigured since this pic a couple years ago.

The Hole-E boards are pretty cool. Zip tie the pedal in and a quick change if you want to swap out a pedal. No Velcro to deal with.

AJ, Here's what I do - Those clips on the Black Box came from something I bought at Walmart for hanging up brooms and such. I added the heat shrink tubing. My "pedalboard" is a piece of 1/4" plywood. The Turbotuner is for backup. Mostly use the DaTuner app on my phone now - Output from the Hilton Volume pedal or the Black Box. One wire to the wall and one back to the Amp. Easy setup and pack up.

Mike Wheeler - where did you get your little clip on table? _________________ 2013 Brook Torridge, 2014 Martin 000-18, two homebrew Teles, Evans RE200 amp, Quilter 101R head, understanding wife of 45 years. 'Steeless' at the moment but looking...... |

I don’t find a need to hang the B.B. off a leg of my steel, as once the Z is set (older models don’t even have the variableZ) its left alone to do its job. |
