Hi Guys, I am about to buy this steel Guitar. Inc original case. Only change is new tuning machines. Advertised as 1940's. I have a National New Yorker, the pickup looks the same. Any info would be great. Approx price etc. Thanks STU

It's a National Princess, a mid-priced model built ca. 1940-2. The pickup is the first version of the string-through unit, with separate coils for each string; it has a noticeably darker sound than the second, more common variant, but similarly hot output. I'd put it at $3-400, maybe a touch more if it has the original chipboard case and the Klusons are rattling around inside.
