I have read some interesting articles regarding the short comings of the original cables used on the Multi-Kord. For me, the original location of the pedals is hard for me to operate. I need to stretch out my legs more to be comfortable. I was at first attracted to replacing the cables with steel welding rods which sounds like a good solution except, I want to move the pedals forward to make it easier for me to operate them. I am considering using bicycle brake cables to allow me to remove the original pedals and fabricate a separate pedal unit I can set in a location more comfortable to operate. I have some ideas on how to accomplish this using bicycle brake cables and some standard bicycle hardware with some modifications. I am wondering if anyone else has designed a pedal unit using bicycle brake cables, or something similar that could share some of their experiences? I have the 6 string, 4 pedal model. Thanks, Charles Taylor, Bradenton FL

Charles - iirc there is discussion of this concept on the fender pedal steel forum and/or the pedal steel builder forum. You may try searching there. |

I would like to thank Michael Allen for steering me to the information I was seeking. I am attaching some photos of a pedal box, just like I am hoping to make.
