If it was Buddy's 12-string basket weave S-10, I think it was an E9 with a C# as his 5th string and I forgot about the 10th string. Always liked the idea of that set-up myself.

I think the above is right, but may be wrong.

As I recall, Buddy played a black push-pull (D-10 9 and 7) -- not the Blade -- at the '77 convention. I was in front of the first row, on the floor, when he recorded the 'Live at Scotty's' album that year. I went to all the conventions from the late 70's through the end of the 80's and never saw Buddy play anything other than D-10's.

Ron,

There are four screws on each head. Two are difficult to get to as they are directly under a cross rod. If you will move the rod by pushing the bell cranks you can see them and it will make it easier to get a screwdriver to them. It can be done because I had to do the same thing on an 89 LeGrande

Hope this helps,

Ol' Fred

Bud,
I want to say mid-late 80's, but I'm not sure -- maybe '86 or '87. If I recall correctly, he also played the EMCI after the MCI.

Once again Larry is absolutely right. I just dug out Tom Bradshaw's Newsletter #13 and there is Buddy pickin' a D-10. Although the whole newsletter is in black and white, it would appear to be a solid black Emmons D-10.
