I have a '78 Emmonns D10 which I am in the process of replacing tuning keyheads, having looked carefully I can only see 2 screws which appear to hold the tuner head to the body of the guitar located underneath the rollers, are there any other 'hidden' screws or is the tuner held in place by these screws and lugs on the head which position into the body of the guitar?.The only way possible to replace the 10th string keys would appear to be to remove one of the tuner heads as one cannot remove the original keys as they are too close to the 1st string on the C6th neck.
Thanks

Hidden screws, hidden snaps, hidden tab-a's into slot-b's, it's always a risk when taking something broken apart, that you're gonna break it worse than it was broken in the first place. |

Ron,
There are four screws on each one. Two of them are difficult to get to as they are directly under a cross rod. If you will turn the rod slightly with the bell crank you can see them and it will also make it easier to get a screwdriver to them. It can be done because I changed the ones on my 89 LeGrande.
Hope this helps,
Ol' Fred |
