Has anyone ever use the Line 6 spider valve amp for pedal steel ? The one I’m talking about is the Bogner model ...... A buddy of mine plays one with a Musicman guitar and it sounds great ..... A nice fat thick rock tone with really nice cleans .......Jim |

I have a Line Six Spider Valve Mark I 212 Tube Amp. It has about 400 different combinations of effects designed by Bogner. It is fun playing around with the effects once in a while. However, I use the Fender amp model in the Clean or Twang mode and add a little reverb and delay. I also replaced the tubes with good quality upgrades. All that to say, using the settings and tubes indicated above, the amp sounds great with PSG. I really like it. It is just a matter of dialing the amp in.
On the downside, it is somewhat of a heavy combo amp. _________________ blah, blah, blah.

James: If you are in the same general area as your friend, why don't you try it out and let us know your thoughts on it? |

ajm......my buddy is in Atlanta and I’m in NY....
Dan,
Thanks for your reply.....I remember my buddy playing a tune with the Fender clean w/chorus and delay.....The amp was mic’d and the tone was really good ! ....Seems to me that having a tube amp with good digital effects should be a pretty good combination....I’m going to look for a 100 watt head......They’re selling very reasonably priced......I’ll post my findings......Thanks again.....Jim |
