Don't really know where to post this question. Hope this is the right place.
I have a friend that needs to talk to the guy that bought Hal's old Franklin guitar about 2-3 years ago. Does anyone know how to get in touch with him? I think he lived in South Carolina.

Jeff,
think it was fo`bro Buster Warren.
I bought Hal`s Franklin steel from him and sold it to Kjell Helde here in Norway.
Kjell also own Paul`s first two pickup stereo steel.

I bought Hal's Franklin. Sold it to Dag. Can't tell you much about it, didn't keep
it long. It didn't fit me all that well.

Yes ofcourse, I bought it from Bill not Buster.
The Franklin was with short key head - after Hal`s wishes.

| Dag I spent a week and got within a $100 of buying it.And did not know it was a short key head.Still wish I'd bought it.Everyone sold it, or at least priced it for more than Hal offered to sale it to me for...........bb |

I think Bill buffed out the endplates so I guess it was worth more after that..
I looked and played great when I got it.

| The thing that held me off was.If I had bought it. To put my set-up on it.I would have had to changed every pedal and knee pedal, (Both necks) except the B pedal. On a round shaft Frankin that's a lot of work......bb |

Bobby, the way Franklin retains the round cross rod it is actually a breeze to change them. The pull rods just slide in and out of the puller slot and the cross rod is very quick and simple to R&R. I would love to have a chance to buy another Franklin.

That's true Jerry. But I had problems sliding the bellcranks - rod pullers on an earlier model.They were secured with a small allen screw that went thru the side of the rod puller.It made it hard to get a wrench on it. I think they're still made this way. Anyway,The worst part.The screws had been in there so long they were stuck to the point that you would strip the head of the allen screw before some would turn loose.
As I stated. On Hal's guitar to get my setup I would have had to move the rod pullers on every pedal and knee pedal except the B pedal. AS you know his C6th was really different and I would have had to buy a lot of rod pullers and rods to get my set-up. (Example) Pedals 4&5 where his on and the standard pedal 5 started on pedal 6. I was busy at the time and choose not to do it.
BTW, How hard is it to remove the cross shafts on the C6th? The E9 is of course a piece of cake.

I wish I had kept it. It did play and sound good. I had been playing a Mullen for years and the Franklin had a feel I didn't like.
I had it changed to the Emmons setup and all the metal re polished. It looked great.
Too late now !!!
