G is the flat 7th to A. With the a&b pedals down you are playing an A chord (no bar position). I take it you are then lowering the sixth a whole tone with a knee lever while still holding the B pedal down (split tuner), so you get the G. So basically you are playing an A dominant seventh chord, or at least part of an A dominant seventh.

Then I don't understand what you are doing with the A & B pedals. If you are not using either of those pedals, and are just lowering the sixth to G, then you are making an E minor chord. Why did you mention the A & B pedals in your original post?

I lower both G#'s 3&6 to G on a lever. With the A pedal and the lever I get A7, with only the lever I get E minor. This is a very useful lever change for my playing. Two frets up I get the same change as B&C pedals. I use this much more than the B&C pedals because the 8th string is also in play.

Jack, maybe I'm misunderstanding this, but the B pedal raises G#→A. When you use the "G# lower" lever with the A&B pedals, isn't it just cancelling out the B pedal? That should be the same as just the A pedal...unless you aren't lowering both G#'s.

So played open with A&B plus only string 6 lowered, your middle strings would look like this....which is Amaj7

3-A
4-E
5-C#
6-G#

But what grip are you using? If you aren't playing the 3rd string, it's just C#m
